Article abstract: The San Diego Natural History Museum signed a Cooperative Letter of Agreement with Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar through Southwest Division Naval Facilities Engineering Command to provide a long-term monitoring plan and baseline survey for the endangered species willowy monardella (Monardella viminea). This project provides a comprehensive population census in all appropriate Station habitat, creates a method to track the status of willowy mondardella on MCAS Miramar, develops a methodology for monitoring population trends, and reports potential plant specific management needs. The monitoring protocols outlined here will provide consistent data collection, data evaluation, and assessment of this taxon’ s status on the Station.
