Purpose: This Trails Management Plan for Torrey Pines State Reserve (“TPSR” or “Reserve”) of California State Parks (CSP) serves as a long-term, guiding document for Reserve managers, staff, and volunteers, who construct trail improvements, maintain or repair existing trails, or are otherwise involved with trail issues at TPSR. The Plan establishes goals for the overall trail system as well as guidelines for appropriate trail uses, trail closures and reroutes, trail maintenance and repair activities, trail aesthetics, and a trail monitoring system. The Plan also defines trail-specific guidelines for individual trails as well as recommended future planning efforts that are beyond the scope of this Plan.
