Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer + Fusarium Dieback: Decision Making for Reproductive Hosts

Type: fact sheet

Article abstract: The Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer (PSHB), Euwallacea sp., is an invasive beetle that carries two fungi: Fusarium euwallaceae and Graphium sp. A reproductive host is a tree species that is suitable for reproduction of the next generation of beetles and the growth and development of the symbiotic fungi. Reproductive hosts are currently the priority species for control activities as they are able to produce beetles capable of spreading the infestation.
