The incumbent will:
• Develop curriculum-aligned field trips and author a field guide with site-specific educational modules that support K-12 and community-college educators. • Formalize a “Reserve Ambassadors” volunteer program to sustain long-term stewardship and recruit regular tide-pool docents who promote responsible ecosystem interaction. • Forge strategic partnerships with local schools, community colleges, and community organizations to establish recurring visit schedules and integrate the reserves into existing educational pathways. • Coordinate BioBlitz events that generate new species observations for contribution to statewide biodiversity databases. • Amplify the reserves’ digital footprint by managing coordinated social-media campaigns and community-newsletter outreach. Uses professional public educational program concepts in the completion of public education assignments. Works on programs and needs assessments that are of moderate scope and complexity. Modifies existing public educational programs or develops segments of larger programs.
