Job Opportunity - Restoration Coordinator (Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve)

The Tijuana Estuary Foundation, the nonprofit partner supporting the operation of the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve (TRNERR), is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Restoration Coordinator to help advance the Reserve’s habitat restoration, science, and coastal resilience initiatives.

Working as part of a highly collaborative team, the Restoration Coordinator will contribute to the planning, implementation, and monitoring of large-scale restoration projects being advanced by TRNERR. These include a large tidal marsh restoration effort, which is being coordinated and aligned with other concurrent projects across the Reserve. The Restoration Coordinator will also help advance the Reserve’s restoration science program, including developing applied research priorities and contributing to the long-term vision for restoration and adaptive management. The scope of responsibiliIes and leadership opportuniIes for this posiIon may be tailored to the experience and interests of the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Support planning and coordination of habitat restoration and enhancement projects led by TRNERR and its partners.

• Contribute to long-term research and monitoring programs that evaluate restoration outcomes and ecosystem responses.

• Provide leadership for selected project elements such as design reviews, technical oversight of defined restoration work, and reporting, as appropriate.

• Assist with project logistics, including tracking budgets, permitting, schedules, and contractor coordination for assigned tasks.

• Facilitate communication and information exchange among project partners to ensure alignment and consistency across restoration efforts.

• Represent TRNERR and the Foundation in collaborative working groups, technical meetings, and community partnerships.
