Job Opportunity - Coordinator, Seeds of Success (BLM)// Chicago Botanic Garden (remote)

Position Overview: This position will provide support to the national Seeds of Success program, assisting the Seeds of Success Senior Curator and Senior GIS Analyst in program planning, training, coordination, and day-to-day program management.

Position is remote-eligible. Position will generally follow Mountain Time working hours. Some occasional travel may be required.

**Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for the following: **

  • Provide day-to-day support for the Seeds of Success (SOS) program staff and partners, enabling the collection, processing, and banking of seeds from native plant taxa across the U.S.
  • Support management of the National Collection data, including quality control of data submission from field collectors, and historic data cleanup.
  • Assist in coordinating and providing several virtual and in-person trainings on the SOS protocols each field season.
  • Assist with coordination of general SOS program business, including the delivery, processing, and handling of SOS data and SOS seed accessions, with Bureau of Land Management (BLM) field offices, federal and non-federal partners, and contractors.
  • Assist with review and update of SOS Technical Protocol, workflows, resources, and policies as needed. Collaborate with SOS team to assist in design of digital data collection workflows using Survey123, Field Maps, and ArcGIS Online.
  • Assist with creating outreach and communication materials and represent the Plant Conservation and Restoration Program and SOS as needed at conferences and workshops and with a wide variety of audiences.
  • Assist with filling data gaps in National Collection. Assist in identifying and summarizing seed accession uses, storage locations and conditions, and viability of SOS accessions in storage.
  • Assist with database and tool planning and development.
  • Support BLM Plant Conservation and Restoration communication needs by assisting with or creating PowerPoints and other communication materials as needed.
