Job Opportunity - Placer County Conservation Manager I (Placer County)

The Community Development Resource Agency is seeking applications for one Project Manager vacancy in the Placer County Conservation Program (PCCP). This position will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of the PCCP and its natural resource mitigation, conservation, and restoration activities. The ideal candidate will have experience with natural resource lands management, contract management, natural community and species monitoring, and basic geographic information systems (GIS) operations.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES – Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Confer with department staff, other county departments, stakeholders, consultants, external customers, and applicants regarding facility maintenance and improvement requests, space needs, leases or prospective lease spaces, infrastructure improvement, capital park/trail/open space development projects, or private development projects.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor project progress; serve as a central point of contact to facilitate efficient progress through all phases of the project from initiation to completion; provide instruction, direction, and guidance regarding project steps, requirements, timelines, and relevant policies and procedures; ensure adherence to regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop scopes of work; prepare or review plans, documents, budget reports, and authorization-related documents; assist in the environmental review and regulatory permitting process.
  • Gather and analyze data and information and conduct studies related to departmental space and facility needs, service levels, capital projects, infrastructure improvement, park/trail/open space projects, conserved lands, or private development projects; conduct studies concerning suitability of existing and proposed buildings, including administrative and fiscal analyses.
