Job Opportunity - Conservation Program Manager (San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance)

The Conservation Program Manager oversees, supervises, and manages scientific and/or educational programs focused on the conservation and recovery of plants and wildlife and their habitats. This position reports to a Researcher II or higher in the Conservation Science & Wildlife Health department.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Oversee conservation program staff including, but not limited to, interviewing, hiring, training and performance management.
  • Identify opportunities for organization-wide involvement in conservation and recovery of threatened species and habitats.
  • Plan, implements and oversee conservation and restoration efforts.
  • Oversee data collection and other project team activities.
  • Contribute to programmatic plans.
  • Understand and apply best management practices, scientific method and analyses.
  • Develop, negotiate, obtain, and manage large-scale grant and contract partnerships and writes annual reports to funders.
  • Establish and maintain communications with internal and external groups and organizations for the organization's conservation efforts.
