This program will provide grant support for "planning, design, and restoration of natural and nature-based solutions to help protect coastal communities from the impacts of storms, floods, and other natural hazards and enable them to recover more quickly and enhance habitats for fish and wildlife."

This year, NCRF is a partnership between NFWF, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Occidental, Shell USA, Inc, the U.S. Department of Defense, TransRe, and the Bezos Earth Fund.

NFWF expects to have approximately $140 million to invest in projects, thanks in part to a funding boost from the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. There is no maximum limit on the requested award amount, and non-federal match is encouraged but not required.

Pre-proposal deadline is April 21, 2022. There is an informational webinar for potential applicants March 30th.
