Join us for the first of four webinars that together compose this year’s State of Biodiversity Digital Symposium. Keynote speaker Dr. Nancy Knowlton believes it is more important than ever to maintain our optimism in the face of huge environmental challenges.

Dr. Nancy Knowlton is Sant Chair in Marine Science Emerita at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C. and senior scientist emerita at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama. She was a scientific leader of the Census of Marine Life and wrote the book Citizens of the Sea to celebrate ten years of the Census. She was also a founding Director at the Center for Marine Biodiversity & Conservation at Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
