The City of Ventura is hiring an Environmental Biologist. The Environmental Biologist who works under the general direction of the City’s Laboratory Supervisor, is responsible to plan, coordinate, develop, evaluate, and implement environmental mitigation projects and efforts to comply with environmental laws, policies and regulations that apply to Ventura Water. This position also is responsible for coordinating mitigation issues on behalf of the City. Additionally, the Environmental Biologist coordinates and conducts field monitoring studies, data collection, surveys, statistical analysis, prepares technical reports and when required, coordinates and oversees the work of contract staff performing environmental analysis. Note: This position may be required to work weekends and holidays and perform other related work as assigned.
