Job Opportunity - Wildlife Biologist (Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton)

Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton's Wildlife Management Section is looking for a talented Wildlife Biologist to oversee their Riparian Program Area. The riparian biologist acts as a subject matter expert for riparian species and habitat, and will manage contracts for the benefit of federally listed riparian bird and amphibian species. They are looking for someone with a team focus to augment our already outstanding team of biologists, who will represent the Marine Corps on matters of natural resources laws, guidelines and directives in order to balance endangered species management with military training objectives. Up to 20% of duties will include field work; biologists are expected to gain survey hours for federally listed species sufficient to acquire a 10a1A permit with US Fish and Wildlife Service. A strong background in data interpretation, report writing, and use of GIS is helpful in this position. Training will be provided as funding allows, and may require some travel.
