Blackhawk Environmental is seeking a Senior Biologist with a minimum of 8 years of experience in southern California and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field. The preferred candidate is already based in the San Diego area and is a motivated self-starter with strong writing abilities and organizational skills that will apply toward a wide array of project types throughout southern California. Proposal writing and business development skills are also highly desired for this position. The successful applicant must be willing to accommodate a work schedule that involves occasional travel and efficiently begin new projects, sometimes within 24 hours of notice to proceed. Must be able to coordinate staff and logistics with little to no assistance. Possession of a current USFWS T&E recovery permit that covers one to several species in southern California is an added plus. The position will involve a combination of field surveys, construction monitoring and office-based tasks. Simultaneous handling of multiple concurrent projects is necessary, and efficiency with attention to detail is of utmost importance.
