Job opportunity- Environmental Scientist (California Department of Parks and Recreation)

The Environmental Scientist (ES) will act as the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve (TRNERR) Stewardship Program Coordinator. The ES will participate in the identification and prioritization of efforts in natural resources management at Border Field State Park and Tijuana Estuary Natural Preserve, which are included in the TRNERR. The ES will carry out projects that may include sediment and marine debris management, habitat restoration, invasive species control, monitoring of park resources, development of project plans and budgets, and mapping of park resources. The ES will oversee project implementation, including budgets, grants, volunteers, contracting, permitting and monitoring. The ES will assist District staff in project review to ensure compliance with environmental laws and permitting needs.
