Job Opportunity- Senior Environmental Planner (SANDAG)

The Senior Environmental Planner will lead environmental compliance efforts for various SANDAG projects. The position will support the environmental review process for capital improvement projects planned for the region through the development of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documentation, secure federal and state regulatory permits and approvals, and oversee construction monitoring compliance, and post-construction compliance of any mitigation reporting. The Senior Planner will work directly with the agency’s engineering staff and outside environmental consultants to coordinate the environmental review of projects.

This position is ideal for a seasoned planning professional with experience in environmental review and permit compliance. We anticipate significant career development will occur while working on the types of duties and responsibilities described below and through mentoring and close collaboration with senior staff.
