The California Ocean Protection Council, part of the California Natural Resources Agency, is pleased to announce a new solicitation for grant pre-proposals for projects benefiting California's coast and ocean, made possible through funding from Proposition 84.

California Sea Grant and USC Sea Grant will be administering this competitive grant program and are now soliciting preliminary proposals on behalf of the Ocean Protection Council for the Proposition 84 Competitive Grant Program.

OPC has identified six broad focus areas that include all the priority research topic areas identified in this call. They are:

• Ocean acidification and hypoxia, and other changes in ocean conditions from a changing climate

• Sustainable fisheries and aquaculture

• Sea-level rise adaptation and coastal resilience

• Coastal sediment management

• Marine pollution

• Marine renewable energy

An informational webinar on February 20, 2018 will provide details on the priority research focus areas and application process.
