Have you seen these insect/pollinator hotels? They are way cool! Link shared by Bobbie Stephenson: http://www.inspirationgreen.com/insect-habitats.html?searched=insect&advsearch=allwords&highlight=ajaxSearchhighlight+ajaxSearchhighlight1 Or these bat condos? These regulate heat better than traditional bat boxes and work for colony roosters like pallid bat and (maybe) Townsend’s big-eared bat which occur in San Diego Co in low numbers and are in need of serious conservation and management. The bat lady at the MSCP workshop (Cindy Meyers?) asked me to pass on to land managers that tree roosting bats are breeding under dead palm fronds (trivia: bats have on average only 1 young per year). Maybe bat condos can be erected before the start of large scale palm removal projects? http://www.toolcrib.com/blog/2009/08/27-bat-house-plans-bat-nurseries-bat-rocket-boxes-bird-bat-boxes-and-more http://www.batmanagement.com/Ordering/motels/batmotel.html (this is not an endorsement of this company – just an example) Agenda MMAgendaJul242013 [23KB] BatInfo from Cindy Myer (1) [251KB]
