The San Diego Arthropod Society holds meetings every two months (odd months) on the second Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm. In September, Dr. Kohn (UCSD) will be talking about insect diversity and turnover from Volcan Mountain to the coast using Malaise traps and DNA barcoding.
