Beyond Basics: Wildlife Tracking as Pattern Recognition

This second level wildlife tracking course will review the basics, then delve into topics such as ecological tracking, habitats, trail types, animal adaptations, as well as gaits and track patterns. This is a great follow up workshop for people who have participated in “The Art and Science of Wildlife Tracking,” but it is not a prerequisite. Previous tracking experience is helpful, but not required. The course includes an evening in-class session paired with a morning field day practicing our skills out on the trail at Lake Morena. This class will be taught by SDAS Education Associate/Volunteer Manager, Jill Cooper. Jill is a trained biologist who has been tracking wildlife for more than ten years.
