4th International Burrowing Owl Symposium

We are pleased to announce the 4th International Burrowing Owl Symposium to be held in conjunction with the Joint Meeting of Washington Chapter of The Wildlife Society, Society for Northwestern Vertebrate Biology, Raptors of the Northwest Symposium, and Northwest Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation. The full Joint Meeting will occur February 3-7, 2014 at the Red Lion Inn, Pasco, Washington. We invite abstracts for presentations related to any aspect of Burrowing Owl ecology and management. Technical Sessions will include:

• Ecology and Conservation • Population Status and Reintroductions • Migration • Relocation and Mitigation • Survey and Monitoring Protocols • Distribution and Habitat Inventories

Poster and presentation content should address one or more of the technical session topics listed above, and may consist of either topical overviews or final or interim original research results. Abstracts for 20- minute oral presentations and posters for the technical and poster sessions should follow the guidelines for the 2014 Joint Meeting. Abstracts should not exceed 250 words and use Times Roman 12-point font. Deadline for abstract submission has been extended to December 4, 2013. Important Note: Proceedings from the Burrowing Owl Symposium will be published, with final draft manuscripts requested at the time of the conference.
