Badger International Symposium

Alpha Wildlife Research & Management will be hosting the 2013 Badger Symposium at Lister Hall, University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Canada. The objective of this symposium is to bring together researchers, conservationists and managers working on the following species: • American Badger (Taxidea taxus) • European Badger (Meles meles) • Ferret Badgers (Melogale spp.) • Stink Badgers (Mydaus spp.) • Hog Badger (Arctonyx collaris) • Honey Badger (Mellivora capensis)

Topics will include: • Evolutionary history • Phylogenetic relationships • Distribution and status • Population structure and spacing • Reproductive Biology • Man-caused and natural mortality • Parasites and Diseases • Habitat Ecology • Food Habits • Translocation • Interspecific Relationships • Man-Badger Relationships • Research & Management Techniques • Conservation Programs
