Mgmt/Monit Coord Mtg - Aug 2014

The August monthly management/monitoring coordination meeting will be held August 27th, 2014 from 9:30am to 11:30am at the USGS, in the downstairs conference room.

Highlights:

Dr. Ron Swaisgood from the San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research (ICR) will be giving a presentation on the ICR’s burrowing owl recovery study.

AND:

In follow-up to last month’s meeting, Kevin Turner (UC Coop. Ext) sent some additional info:

  1. Screenshots (attached) taken with the GSOB Tracker App at the meeting to show how the data looks on the receiving end on our data admin site. Here’s the link to our mobile apps: [http://ucanr.edu/sites/gsobinfo/HowYouCanHelp/s/ ](http://ucanr.edu/sites/gsobinfo/HowYouCanHelp/s/)
  2. EWS data recording form. This particular form was custom designed for the Idyllwild volunteers conducting oak tree surveys and looking specifically for GSOB but could be customized to fit needs.
  3. Tom Scott and I were on a field trip in San Diego last week and saw GSOB and PSHB/Fusarium killing oak and sycamore (and other) trees nearly side by side at Sycuan (see photo).
  4. GSOB Oak Tree Survey Tool (attached “Theodolite” and see message below)
